Kathryn Lewis, Harpist

Kathryn Lewis is a professional harpist based in the Midlands, specialising in weddings and other formal occasions.

Why the harp?

With its elegant appearance, sublime sound and sheer presence, the harp is a wonderful choice for special events, creating an atmosphere without ever imposing, and lending itself to a wide range of music.

Kathryn plays two diffeent types of harp, for more details, please visit the making a booking page.

The music

Kathryn plays all sorts of music: classical, jazz, contemporary, some harp arrangements of well-known pieces and music written specifically for the harp, as well as popular favourites.  Visit the music list page to see a selection of pieces and to listen to some sound clips.

Kathryn also plays traditional pieces from around the UK.  Originally from South Wales, she also specialises in St David’s Day events, playing traditional Welsh music for Welsh societies across England.

Where she plays

Kathryn regularly plays at the region’s most prestigious venues including Breadsall Priory, Sandon Hall, Ramada Jarvis Newton Park, Ringwood Hall, Makeney Hall, Hassop Hall, Chatsworth, and she played at the first wedding at Stafford County Buildings.  She is delighted to be the recommended harpist at Breadsall, Makeney and, most recently, the stunning Blithfield Hall.

She has completed residencies at Weston Park in Shropshire and the Hilton at Luosto in Finland and is harpist in residence at the Manor at Hanchurch.

Kathryn is a guest harpist with orchestras in the region and has broadcast live for BBC radio.
